The Aerospace & Defense Supplier Summit Seattle brings together industry experts from the international aerospace and defence sectors once a year. These include OEMs, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, specialist service providers and technology providers. 300 professionals discussed, among other things, measures to strengthen and modernise supply chains, current and future requirements of major OEMs, and the optimisation of procurement and production. Furthermore, digitalisation and automation played a key role, for example in relation to digital supply chains, data-driven production processes and networked industrial value creation.

4cost was present as an exhibitor alongside its Canadian partner company MoovinV. The focus was on JULIE, a solution developed by MoovinV: an AI-powered procurement platform designed specifically for complex supply chains in sectors such as aerospace, with the aim of automating the sourcing process for raw materials and components. The platform connects companies with global suppliers and optimises efficiency in technical procurement through modules such as automated quotation comparisons and should costing. To offer fast and robust should costing, JULIE utilises 4cost’s parametric calculation model, which is also used in the costing software 4cost-aces.

“Our software solutions for accurate cost calculations at an early stage have been in high demand,” sums up Joachim Schöffer, Managing Partner of 4cost GmbH. “In particular, companies such as Boeing, Blue Origin, Bombardier, Airbus and Diehl Defence showed a keen interest in improving their cost transparency.”

We would like to thank all participants for the lively discussion and look forward to participating again next year.
