On 16 and 17 May 2023, the RAILWAY Supplier Summit premiered in D\u00fcsseldorf. For the first time, the Berlin Institute Supply Chain Management invited representatives of leading railway companies and suppliers to share their insights on current challenges, solutions, and trends. The event focused on the digital transformation of the rail sector and the advancing electrification of rail transport.<\/p>\n

Over two days, the RAILWAY Supplier Summit featured exciting keynotes from companies such as Deutsche Bahn, Siemens, Skoda, Knorr-Bremse, Alstom and Schaeffler. The speakers shared interesting insights into their corporate strategies for quality, sustainability, and the mobility of the future. \"All these topics and innovations have to be analysed and evaluated in terms of costs in advance to ensure that companies not only grow but also remain profitable in the long term,\" explains Joachim Sch\u00f6ffer, managing partner of 4cost GmbH. \"For this purpose, we offer a portfolio of suitable tools consisting of costing software<\/a> and value engineering<\/a>.\"<\/p>\n

On the second day of the event, Joachim Sch\u00f6ffer moderated a panel discussion on the topic of \"Sustainability through digital innovation - Where are the limits? The panellists were Guido Lemeire (Industry Leader National Critical Infrastructure Western Europe, Microsoft) and Huschke Diekmann (Managing Director, Konux). In addition to the status quo and specific plans, the potential use of artificial intelligence (AI) was discussed.<\/p>\n<\/div>
