4cost at the Machining Innovations Conference for Aerospace Industry 2022<\/h1><\/div>

After a break due to the pandemic, the Machining Innovations Conference for Aerospace Industry (MIC) 2022 was held for the first time again as an attendance event at the Produktionstechnisches Zentrum Hannover in Garbsen from 30 November to 1 December 2022. The conference was organised by the Manufacturing Innovations Network e.V. and the Institut f\u00fcr Fertigungstechnik und Werkzeugmaschinen. For 22 years now, the MIC offers an international platform for the exchange of experts and scientists from the aerospace industry. As a provider of innovative solutions for price and cost calculations<\/a>, 4cost was present at the MIC as an exhibitor and speaker.<\/p>\n

This year, new production technologies for aerospace were in focus at the MIC. Numerous speakers from well-known companies spoke about current trends in manufacturing, presented the latest research results and shared their expertise with the participants on site. Lively discussions were held on which flexible solutions the industry can use to meet the increased demands in times of crisis. “Manufacturing today has to fulfil three criteria. It must be cost-efficient, resource-saving and sustainable. This requires a high degree of cost transparency already in the development phase in order to identify the best possible manufacturing solutions at an early stage,” says Joachim Sch\u00f6ffer, managing partner of 4cost GmbH, summarising the current situation in the industry.<\/p>\n

On the evening of the first conference day, the organiser invited to a gala event at Hannover Airport. Overlooking the runways, contacts were made and in-depth discussions were held. As part of the broad programme of lectures on the second day of the conference, Mr. Sch\u00f6ffer spoke on the topic of “costs and prices in the environment of innovative manufacturing technologies”. Among other things, he showed how the 4cost costing software<\/a> effectively helps to identify potentials for reducing development and manufacturing costs.<\/p>\n

During the event, 4cost GmbH signed a letter of intent to support the research project “Szenokalk” – a project of the Forschungsgemeinschaft Werkzeuge und Werkstoffe (FGW) in cooperation with the Institut f\u00fcr Fertigungstechnik und Werkzeugmaschinen (IFW) of the Leibniz University of Hanover. Within the framework of this project, a method for predictive cost calculation of machined components, taking into account rescheduling risks, is to be researched. “As a promoter of innovative technologies, we are always ready to support promising projects with our know-how and solutions,” says Joachim Sch\u00f6ffer, explaining the cooperation.<\/p>\n
